An afternoon with the Senior Citizens Group

Jo Sutherland popped in to see the Waimate Senior Citizens group who meet every Tuesday at 2pm at the Senior Citizens building on the corner of Glasgow and Sherman Street. It was lovely to meet Diane Rogers who organises all the entertainment for the group and what a wonderful service it is for our elderly community. Diane organises different activities for the group each week from guest speakers, musicians, craft activities and the most popular one is ‘Housie’. Diane also organises mystery trips around the district. The residents love coming on a Tuesday as it connects them together and gets them out and about.
