The Butterfly Tree

The Butterfly Tree sculptures are designed as either standalone pieces or as paired installations along the trail, where connecting wires can form an archway between them.
The sculptures evoke the image of trees alive with butterflies, blending industrial materials with motion and light to create a kinetic, nature-inspired installation suitable for trails or public spaces.
The theme is based around the Red Admiral Butterfly. 🦋
Lyn recently discovered the name for a gathering of butterflies is a kaleidoscope. A great description for the butterfly inspired art installation she is creating for the gorge section of the Waimate Trail.
The butterflies will represent all the nationalities that make up our wonderful Waimate District.

The hand painting of approximately 100 butterflies as begun. These are the first of the completed ones in position along the fence line they will be fixed to.
